Important Facts about SPF

𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐒𝐏𝐅
Hello Everyone, I see a lot of people are confused about SPF and its usage process. Here are some basic facts about SPF that you need to know:
1.𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗣𝗙:
  • To prevent sunburn
  • For glowy skin
  • Works as anti-aging in the long run of usage
  • Prevents risks of SCC ( Squamous cell carcinoma) etc
2. How to use SPF:
  • First Find out which type of SPF you are using chemical or physical;
  • In Chemical SPF you'll find Avobenzone, Octinoxate, and Oxybenzone ingredients. Most SPF is chemical, and it's more effective than physical/mineral ones. But for sensitive skin, it's better to avoid this.
  • In Physical SPF, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main ingredients. Less effective but best for sensitive skin.
  • Before moisturizer apply the chemical SPF & after moisturizer apply the physical/mineral SPF.
  • Gently rub it on the face, neck, ears/open areas of the body. Make sure to wash your face before applying the SPF.
  • Apply a generous amount of SPF.
  • Before makeup use SPF.
3. Check b efore buying SPF :
  • Fragrance-free
  • Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
  • Oil-free
  • Paraben-free
  • SPF of at least 30 or higher
4. When to use SPF:
  • If you live in a winter country then maybe sometimes you can avoid SPF, but in a summer-based country, SPF must be used daily.
  • Use it daily whether you are inside the house or outside the house, UVA can penetrate cloth and glass, and UVB can be filtered by ordinary glasses (Both UVA & UVB can cause skin cancer and premature skin aging )
  • If you stay outside during the daytime at least re-apply SPF once every 3-4 hours. (you can re-apply on your face again without washing your face)
  • At night just simply go with your skincare routine and apply a generous amount of moisturizer or a sleep mask. And of course, do not apply it at night.
Here, I have shared a picture. This was a thesis by HUDA BEAUTY. These are twins sisters, both aged 61, One used SPF regularly and the other one did not, well you can see the difference in the picture already.
So, the moral is ladies, everyone please use SPF to reduce skin diseases and to get a healthy glow-y, radiant skin.
